What use this fake romance in exchange for money really was to her, I can't guess. Did she have another boyfriend who wasn't around and was just here to fill a void in her life? I also found out that another girl had been crushing on me and pursuing me. And what choice do I make? All of this is a mystery until the end of the book, when you realize that this is a very bizarre and touching story.
